Do You Want to #BeAnLC?

Are you considering applying to be a Leadership Consultant? Well, you are in luck! The application is now open! Applications, along with corresponding recommendations, are due by November 1st.

But, before you apply, it’s important that you know about a few key changes to the application and interview process.

IMG_1430This year, LC candidates will be asked to submit a professional resume (don’t forget to include any relevant ADPi and campus experiences!) and will answer three short-answer questions. In addition, you are only required to submit two letters of recommendation, and no more than three total may be submitted. Letters should be submitted by a member of your chapter advisory board and your Collegiate Province Director. Other recommendations may be written by:

  • Other Advisory Board Members
  • Fraternity/Sorority Life Advisor (this recommendation is required if you served as Chapter President or a Panhellenic Officer)
  • Former Leadership Consultants (current Leadership Consultants cannot submit a recommendation)
  • Members of the District Team (other than the District Team Director)

Please do not ask a family member to write a recommendation. Also, due to herConfetti 1 involvement in the interview process, your District Team Director should not be asked to submit a recommendation.

Applicants will be notified by phone if they are selected to participate in first round interviews. First round interviews will be conducted over the phone by your District Team Director and the Leadership Services Manager. These interviews will take place during the first two weeks of December. From there, we will notify candidates of their selection to move through to the in-person interview process.

Now, as part of the process, instead of having two in-person interviews at your District Leadership Conference, Alpha Delta Pi will send candidates to Adelphean Compass weekend to participate in a panel interview prior to the start of the Adelphean Compass program. Candidates will also participate in the program as attendees. All costs other than meals prior to Adelphen Compass will be provided by the organization.

Group Pic Edited smallIf you have previously participated in Adelphean Compass, that is okay! That in no way disqualifies you from applying or even being selected as a Leadership Consultant! Small groups will consist of Leadership Consultant candidates and discussion will be tailored to meet your current stage of membership. If at any time throughout the process you realize you will be unable to attend Adelphean Compass weekend please let us know so we can make alternate arrangements for in person interviews.

If you have any questions about the Leadership Consultant Application process, please contact Annie Hardie, Leadership Services Manager, at ahardie@alphadeltapi.com!

Good luck!
