Last week on The Blog, we introduced some of our 2021-2022 Alpha Delta Pi Foundation scholarship recipients. This week, we are excited to tell you more about this year’s winners!
The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is pleased to offer certain scholarships specifically for sisters who are experiencing financial need. More than 25% of our 2021-2022 scholarship recipients were determined to have financial need. Especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic, these scholarships lift a financial burden off our recipients’ shoulders.
“Since starting my nursing educational journey, there have been many additional expenses I did not foresee in comparison to the first two years of my undergraduate experience. Due to the hospital clinical fees, required nursing uniforms, and other supplies, this scholarship has been truly helpful in helping me tackle these additional costs of nursing school.” Alexis Wood, Theta Gamma–Sonoma State
“One of my biggest concerns about attending graduate school was how I was going to fund my studies. The Virginia T. Cooney Graduate Scholarship will assist me in paying for my tuition in order to attend the school of my dreams while pursuing my life goals.” Caitlin Cottrell, Gamma Kappa–West Virginia Wesleyan
“This scholarship came at a time where the funding for my education was uncertain, as the COVID Pandemic hit my family hard. As a recipient of this scholarship, I can continue seeking my education and working hard to make the most of the opportunity I have received in getting my education.” Peyton Tolley, Zeta Tau–Winthrop
“The pandemic was a troubling time financially for me, as I lost my serving job and returned to my old job as an EMT with an ambulance company. I am so grateful that I was able to work and help in the pandemic, however, my job was unable to pay us due to overstaffing and the high demand for emergency help so I was not able to save for my tuition as planned.” Katie Toohey, Eta–Alabama
More than anything, our 2021-2022 Foundation scholarship recipients want you to know how grateful they are for this opportunity and support from our sisterhood.
“My achievements and commitment to my academic studies are motivated by my strong desire to learn and accomplish my goals, but that would not be possible without the financial help that scholarships like this one will provide.” Hailey Chamberlain, Upsilon–Washington State
“Again, thank you so much for donating and allowing me to be the recipient of this scholarship. The support from Alpha Delta Pi is what pushes me every day, and I will always cherish how much this is helping me to conclude my college experience.” Katie Toohey, Eta–Alabama
“I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Betty L. Miller, Alpha Upsilon, Scholarship. I am a first-generation college student, and thanks to your generous donation, I am one step closer to completing my professional goals.” Josephine Sandoval, Alpha Epsilon–Nebraska, Lincoln
“Thank you for the creation of this scholarship. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to receive this scholarship. Thank you for helping me receive a college education and setting me on a path for a successful career and future. Thank you for allowing me to be another person that is forever impacted by your generosity. Thank you for all of this and more.” Cecilia Mainzer, Beta Tau–Akron
