Make a Gift

Alpha Delta Pi alumnae and friends are the driving force behind the success of the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. Several giving options are available to those who wish to support the Foundation and its mission. Donors to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation may be recognized in our Annual and Lifetime Giving Clubs for their cumulative annual and lifetime support of the Foundation, as well as on our Donor Wall and, space permitting, in The Adelphean magazine each year.

You may make a one-time or recurring gift online using a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, or ACH anytime on the Foundation Donation page.

You may send your check made payable to the “Alpha Delta Pi Foundation” to:

Alpha Delta Pi Foundation
1386 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE
Atlanta, GA  30306

Many companies offer a matching gift program for their employees, helping you double – or even triple – the impact of your gift! Gifts from retirees and spouses may also qualify for a match.

  1. Use the search field below to see if your employer participates in a matching gift program.
  2. Click on the company name to view the details of their program.

If you do not find your employer listed, please check with your company’s HR department to see if your company offers a matching gift program.

Donating appreciated securities – like stocks, bonds, or mutual funds – to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation can be a tax-savvy way to give. Gifting stock to a 501(c)(3) charity like the Foundation avoids federal capital gains taxes and most donors can claim an income tax deduction for the full market value of the stocks.

Please contact us at (404) 378-3164 or foundation@alphadeltapi.com to make transfer arrangements. Please note that our stock donation information changed starting fall 2024, so if you have made a stock gift in the past, please contact us before initiating your next gift.

Over the years, many members and friends have named the Foundation as the recipient of a planned gift, such as an estate gift, life insurance policy, charitable trust, or charitable gift annuity. Planned gifts, most of which are tax-deductible can be arranged through legal counsel or a personal financial planner. We are happy to discuss planned giving options and can provide you with sample language for a will or other planned giving vehicle. If you have included the Foundation in your estate plans, we would love know so we can recognize you as a member of the Summit Society.

Please contact us at (404) 378-3164 or foundation@alphadeltapi.com to discuss your planned giving options and visit our planned giving site at www.adpifoundationlegacy.org to learn more.

Create Your Will for Free

We also have a new partnership with FreeWill, making estate planning free and accessible to every member of our sisterhood and community. This partnership allows you to create a legal will – in under 20 minutes and 100% free. All you have to do is answer simple questions about you and your wishes. Once you’re finished, you will receive a document to download, print, and sign. Your document will include specific instructions on how to execute your will, as those instructions will vary based on your state.

An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a tax-deferred savings account. Withdrawals are subject to ordinary income tax (plus penalties if you do so before age 59 ½). Once you turn 73, you are required to start taking distributions from your IRA, known as required minimum distributions (RMDs), even if you don’t need or want the funds. And those RMDs are considered taxable income.

You can choose to make qualified charitable distributions (QCD) to one or more qualified charities – like the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation – to help satisfy your RMD. You may also see QCDs referred to as IRA charitable distributions or IRA charitable rollovers. You can start making QCDs beginning at age 70 ½, up to the amount that would otherwise be taxed as ordinary income. The maximum total QCDs an individual can make from all eligible accounts combined is $105,000 in 2024. This number is adjusted annually and is indexed for inflation going forward.

And you can take a QCD up to $53,000 to fund a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) or Charitable Remainder Trust.

For your convenience, we have a sample letter for making a qualified charitable distribution from an IRA. As always, the Foundation encourages you to consult with your legal and/or financial advisor before making any decisions, especially as it relates to state and federal income taxes.

The Wesleyan Society was established to provide annual, ongoing operational funding for the Foundation. The mission of the Wesleyan Society is to provide ongoing leadership support to the Foundation’s annual fundraising efforts, programs, and special initiatives. Gifts received from Wesleyan Society members allow the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation to use our combined resources wherever the need is greatest.

Membership in the Wesleyan Society is open to sisters and friends of Alpha Delta Pi who commit to give $1,851 or more annually in unrestricted support. Many members of the Wesleyan Society opt to fulfill their pledge with monthly gifts of $154.25 through our recurring giving program. Make your commitment to join the Wesleyan Society online or by contacting the Foundation office at (404) 378-3164.

Just 13 years old when she arrived at Wesleyan, Octavia Andrew was the youngest of our Founders. In her memory, we invite alumnae who were initiated within the last 13 years to join the Octavia Andrew Rush Society with a commitment of $18.51 or more per month to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s unrestricted annual fund (our area of greatest need) in support of our sisters. Join the Octavia Andrew Rush Young Alumnae Society online or by contacting the Foundation office at (404) 378-3164.

The 1851 Violet Circle is Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s giving society EXCLUSIVELY for undergraduate members. Your unrestricted gift of $18.51 or more makes you a Foundation donor and supports the educational, leadership, and philanthropic priorities of our sisterhood. As a token of our appreciation, undergraduate members will receive this year’s 1851 Violet Circle dangle to display on their badge. The dangle changes each year, so this year’s dangle is only available for 1851 Violet Circle members through July 31. Make your gift at www.violetcircle.org.
